Limited Edition Wrap Wallets made, lost shipment of hundreds of wallets found, etc.

Hey Kickstarters!

Yesterday was an awesome day for the Wrap Wallet. Mary and I drove up the Hudson River Valley to fix all of the remaining issues with the project. Our first stop was RF Laserworks in Beacon, NY. Ricardo there had just tracked down the shipment of hundreds of wallets (including all of the custom cut wallets) that never made it to Swish to be fulfilled and was lost for almost two months. What a nightmare. That is all safely in the hands of Mary who will be sewing the Custom Wraps and making sure the other wallets get to Swish so they can be kitted and fulfilled. Ricardo also had time to cut 30 of the Limited Edition Kickstarter Green Wrap Wallets for us to finally get foil stamped.

We took them to the Hudson River Valley Book Bindery in Newburgh, NY where Alice (who has been binding books for 40 years) had the new Kickstarter-logo stamp ready and waiting.

Alice dialed in the location of the foil stamp on the wallet so it would be perfectly aligned over the stitching holes and took her time figuring out the correct temperature, pressure and dwell time to make sure the logo would print perfectly.

Seeing the first foil stamp test print on the Kickstarter-green leather was unbelievably satisfying.

With the location in the location, temperature, pressure and dwell time perfected, we did the first production print on a second wallet. I sewed it up on the spot to check for fit & location when cards are in the wallet and it was perfect.

Mary and I are ecstatic with how these turned out. It took forever, but the custom Kickstarter-green leather that Pergamena formulated for us and the black foil stamp make these look truly amazing.

Alice printed the remaining 28 wallets that we had on hand and will print the rest in a day or two once Ricardo has them cut out. Mary will be sewing them up over the next few days and sending them out for all you Limited Edition backers.
We finished up the day at Pergamena to see how things were going with our latest order of leather. This order is enough for us to finish all remaining Kickstarter orders and all of the orders on Thread & Leather and have stock on hand for future orders. Pergamena is also helping us sew up all remaining sewn Wrap Wallets.
This project has had more than its fair share of problems and delays. The good news is that almost all of the backers, once they receive their wallet, are 100% satisfied with the product. Mary and I really appreciate your patience and words of encouragement, and we are excited to have finally solved the last few remaining hurdles in the project.
Sincerely,
Dave
P.S. - As a reminder, we have been shipping all backers their first wallet first. Swish then began shipping all additional wallets for colors that we had in stock. No orders have fallen through the cracks or have been forgotten, and everyone will get the wallets they pledged for. It will still take a few weeks for the last of the wallets to arrive since many still need to be sewn or shipped to Swish in California for fulfillment.
